Private tabs, and locking them

Browse without leaving a trace on your phone.

Updated October 26, 2026

Open one from the menu with New incognito tab. Pages in private tabs aren't added to history, recent searches or the privacy report's site list, and never ask your search engine for suggestions.

Cookies, site storage and cache from private tabs are kept apart from your normal tabs and deleted when the last private tab closes.

To keep them from anyone who picks up your phone, turn on Lock private tabs. They then need your fingerprint, face or screen lock to open.
