It began as my own browser.
Smart Browser didn't begin as a product. I built it because I wanted a browser that simply stayed out of the way, one that felt fast and familiar and didn't depend on cloud accounts or unnecessary services.
Over time it genuinely made browsing better. Eventually I realised other people might appreciate the same experience, and that is how Smart Browser became available here.

Is Smart Browser free?+
Yes. It is free to download and use, with no ads, and every feature is included.
Do I need an account?+
No. There is no account and no sign in. Everything you do is kept on your phone, so there is nothing for us to store about you.
Does it sync to the cloud?+
No. Nothing is uploaded or synced. To move to a new phone, export a backup file from Settings and restore it on the other phone. Saved passwords are only included if you choose to add them.
How is it different from Chrome?+
Smart Browser blocks ads and trackers out of the box, has no account or sync, and includes tools like Reader mode, Read Aloud, PDF Tools, a document scanner and Image Studio inside the browser. Pages are shown with Android System WebView, which Google keeps up to date through the Play Store.
Which phones does it work on?+
Any phone running Android 8.0 or later. Every tool runs on the phone itself, with no Google Play services needed.
Can I turn the ad blocker off for one site?+
Yes. If a site you trust does not work properly, you can allow it from the site's settings while keeping blocking on everywhere else.
