Writing Again
I really want to make use of the stories I wrote years ago. There were so many of them. The Feather and the Arrow is the one that stays with me the most. Almost the entire story has lived inside me for years. Back then, I didn't know how to put it properly. I posted it episode by episode on Starywriting, and later I archived everything. I still regret doing that.
I genuinely loved that story. The characters have been with me for so long that they almost feel like people I've known all my life. I just never found the time to sit down and give them the book they deserved. Even now, I want nothing more than to publish these stories someday.
Just when I thought I was slowly forgetting about all this, Another concept happened. Most of that idea came to me while I was at working, studying, stealing little moments during breaks and letting my mind wander. I wanted to capture that feeling before it disappeared. So far, only the first chapters feel ready for someone else to read, but the rest is still waiting for me.
Sometimes I feel this urgency to finish everything and finally put these books out into the world. But I also know that forcing them will only make them less than what they're meant to be. Some stories need time, even when I'm tired of waiting.
Right now, I have books waiting in line. I opened The Feather and the Arrows again, and I realised just how much work it still needs. It isn't about changing the story. It's about writing it the way I always imagined it should be written.
I don't think anyone ever learns how to wait when half a story is already living inside them. That's the hardest part. Carrying these worlds around for years, knowing exactly how much they mean to you, and still not being able to hold the finished book in your hands.
I don't like this waiting.
I don't like this silence before I can finally publish even one of the stories I've wanted to share for years..
