Do you understand cringe?
Some loathe it deeply,
I wonder why?
Does it bite them, unseen?
I ponder, now and then,
What is this cringe,
That some despise so fiercely?
An answer emerged:
Cringe is their shadow,
Their unspoken fear.
If they weren’t afraid,
Why scorn another’s joy,
And label it cringe?
I dread a future,
Where happiness itself,
Is deemed cringeworthy.
Be real, my friends,
Cringe is no crime,
No flaw, no fault.
It’s an expression,
A burst of joy.
As long as it harms none,
Cringe is legal,
A celebration of self.
Embrace your cringe,
If it brings you joy.
Life will wither,
If you disdain it.
Add a dash of drama,
Live fully,
Embrace the cringe.
